If you're experiencing issues with your SmartCard Gen 3, you can try resolving them by performing a factory reset.
First, remove the SmartCard from the Apple Find My app:
1. Open the Find My app and select your SmartCard.
2. Tap the gear icon to go to Device Details, then scroll to the bottom of the screen and select “Remove from Find My”.
Next, reset your SmartCard:
1. Press the Find My button four times in a row. You will hear a sound and see the LED flash three times.
2. As soon as you hear the sound, press and hold the Find My button. After about two seconds, the SmartCard will emit a “tick, tick, tick” sound and the LED will flash. Please continue holding the button and do not release it yet.
3. After approximately eight seconds, the SmartCard will play another sound and the LED will flash three times again. At this point, you can release the button, and the factory reset will be complete.
Once the SmartCard has been reset, it will automatically enter pairing mode for 10 minutes. If the card is near your phone, you may receive a prompt to reconnect the device.
